Dracodollars Program
The Dracodollars program has been set up by the Draconis Festival to reward our GMs, panel hosts and volunteers who help us make the festival a success. It applies to the following groups:
- Game masters who offer games at the festival;
- Game masters who run games at our other events outside of the Draconis Festival;
- Game masters who represent the festival by running games at events organised by other groups;
- Panel hosts at the festival;
- Volunteers who offer time during the festival itself.
Note
Dracodollars have no legal value, and are recognised only by the festival, its personnel, the snack bar, and the merchants, in order to thank the volunteers, game masters and hosts. Anyone who fails to respect these rules may be refused the use of Dracodollars, and may even be ejected from the festival.
Warning
If you show up unscheduled to an event to offer games, you will not receive Dracodollars.
Amounts Awarded
Every hour of a table top game, a live-action game, or a panel will award one Dracodollar.
- Games or panels that are not run due to lack of players or audience will still be awarded.
- Games that are not run due to the GM’s or host’s absence or otherwise due to their responsibility will not be awarded.
Every hour of volunteering will award two Dracodollars.
Collection of Dracodollars
Each person is responsible for collecting their own Dracodollars at the festival’s reception desk. They may come at any time.
- This includes GMs who have earned Dracodollars by participating at events prior to the festival.
- Persons participating at the festival will have Dracodollars awarded for hours served up until that point.
- The festival reserves the right to validate any request for Dracodollars.
Note
For all events starting Sunday afternoon, you will be able to collect your Dracodollars in advance, so that you can spend them before closing time.
Dracodollars Spending Policy
- Dracodollars may only be spent on-site during the three days of the festival.
- Each Dracodollar may be exchanged for 1$ in goods in the Merchants Hall, the Snack Bar, the Garage Sale, or to purchase festival merchandise.
- It is possible to make a payment in full or in part with Dracodollars. If in part, the balance must be paid with cash, credit, or debit.
- The value of unspent Dracodollars will not be reimbursed by the festival.
- Dracodollars awarded in one year may not be spent in subsequent years.
- Attendees are free to exchange Dracodollars among themselves.
- A single Dracodollar may be spent multiple times. For example, a volunteer may spend their Dracodollars to buy dice from a dealer in the Merchants Hall, who then spends them to buy food from the Snack Bar, and so on… Only the final person to accept a Dracodollar may have it reimbursed by the Festival.
Dracodollars Reimbursement Policy
- At the end of the festival, or at their departure, each merchant or the operator of the Snack Bar must present themselves at the festival reception table with all the Dracodollars they have collected. If possible, their value will be reimbursed immediately in cash; otherwise, the reimbursement will be made by Interac e-transfer in the seven days following the end of the festival.
- Each Dracodollar will only be reimbursed one time by the festival, regardless of how many times it was spent, and it will be destroyed immediately.
